Senior Financial Accountant Recruitment

The Senior Financial Accountant is responsible for making sure businesses and organisations maintain accurate financial records. They commonly oversee a team of accountants and other financial professionals in order to ensure that all financial transactions are properly accounted for. In many cases, a Senior Financial Accountant will be required to prepare reports on the current state of the organisation's finances, including annual reports, quarterly reports and reports related to specific company initiatives and key projects.

Senior Financial Accountant Responsibilities

The exact list of responsibilities for this position will vary depending on the business or organisation involved. But as a general rule the Senior Financial Accountant will be responsible for most or all of the following:

• Ensure that statutory accounts are prepared in line with end of fiscal year deadlines.
• Oversee the gathering of financial data including sales revenues and liabilities.
• Prepare all relevant financial statements (i.e. balance sheets and income statements).
• Organise and oversee internal audits for the business.
• Prepare departmental and company-wide budgets.
• Assess potential investments and conduct detailed risk analysis.
• Oversee the preparation and submission of tax payments.
• Perform end-of-month and end-of-year close processes.

Senior Financial Accountant Skills

• Minimum of 5 years of professional accounting experience.
• Working knowledge of all applicable tax laws and FRS 102.
• Strong verbal and written communication skills.
• Proven financial analysis skills.
• Outstanding organisational skills.
• Ability to manage multiple work streams simultaneously.
• Ability to work to deadlines consistently.
• Strong overall knowledge of the finance and accountancy industry.
• Comprehensive knowledge of all relevant software programmes.
• Impeccable work history.
