Hedge Accounting Consultant Recruitment

The Hedge Accounting Consultant provides performance analysis and accounting services to hedge funds while working closely with portfolio managers to devise ways to improve fund performance and develop effective investment strategies. In some cases, Hedge Accountants may also trade securities and other financial products as well as oversee the payment of fees and expenses related to the hedge fund and provide timely reports for investors and fund managers.

Key Responsibilities of the Hedge Accounting Consultant

The Hedge Fund Accounting Consultant has a variety of responsibilities some of which will likely be unique to each situation. But as a general rule they can be expected to:

• Ensure the fund is in strict compliance with all relevant statutes and regulations.
• Prepare and deliver hedge fund accounting reports.
• Prepare and deliver valuation statements to relevant parties.
• Oversee payment of hedge fund fees and related expenses.
• Serve as the point of contact for outside auditors.
• Work closely with management to cultivate the business.
• Consult with fund managers to develop strategies, policies and plans for the fund.
• Help devise plans for targeting potential fund clients.
• Assist with managing some day-to-day aspects of the fund.

Hedge Accounting Consultant Skills

• Minimum of 2 years’ experience in an accounting advisory position.
• Master’s Degree in accounting as well as CPA or equivalent certification.
• Outstanding organisational skills and a detail-orientated mindset.
• Exceptional verbal and written communication skills.
• A high degree of self-motivation and the ability to multitask.
• A high degree of computer literacy.
• A passion for finance.

The successful Hedge Accounting Consultant will be able to make a significant contribution to the performance of the client’s fund. They will be comfortable working with Controllers, Treasurers, Auditors, CFOs and members of the fund’s management team.
