Group Reporting Accountant Responsibilities
The role of Group Reporting Accountant calls for someone who is comfortable interacting with staff from all levels of the business. The following list provides a general outline of their responsibilities:
• Ensure the group of companies they represent maintain regulatory compliance
• Preparation of monthly financial statements and management reports
• Consolidating the group budget for both the monthly and the Board reporting packs
• Managing monthly variance analysis
• Supervising junior members of the accounting staff
• Acting as a liaison with external auditors
• Preparation of annual budgets for companies in the group
• Preparation of quarterly and annual financial forecasts
• Quarterly bank reporting
• Preparation of monthly corporate taxes
Exact responsibilities will vary from company to company but as a general rule, the Group Reporting Accountant can expect to be responsible for some or all of the above.
Group Reporting Accountant Skills
• Full AAT qualification
• Minimum 8 years of Accounting experience
• Statutory reporting experience
• Experience conducting a chartered audit
• Outstanding written and verbal communication skills
• A detail-orientated personality
• The ability to accurately analyse complex problems
• The ability to work autonomously and as part of a team
• A calm demeanour and the ability to work to deadlines
• High degree of facility with relevant computer programmes
