Key Responsibilities of the Commercial Accountant

While the precise list of responsibilities will vary from organisation to organisation, the Commercial Accountant is typically tasked with helping to ensure that the business is run as efficiently and profitably as possible. • Working closely with senior management to identify and assess opportunities

Essential Skills of the Successful Commercial Accountant Candidate

If the Commercial Accounting candidate is to be successful, they should possess most if not all of the following skills and experience:

• Be a qualified accountant - ACCA/ACA/CIMA
• Have at least 2 years' experience in commercial accounting or a related role
• Some management experience
• Outstanding communication skills
• Proficiency in accounting related software as well as MS Office products
• Strong organisational skills
• Rock-solid maths skills
• Ability to work to deadlines

The Commercial Accountant candidate will need to work both on their own and within a team structure, have excellent problem-solving skills and be fully up to date on all reporting requirements. They may also need to liaise with external auditors on occasion.
