Assistant Management Accountants are part of an organisation's progress towards financial success. They act as support staff for Financial Managers, collecting and analysing financial information. Assistants need a keen eye for detail so they can maintain accurate numbers in all their computations.
They must also possess exceptional skills in analysis and are capable of processing complex computations. The research typically goes into weekly, monthly, quarterly, and annual company financial reports. These reports are crucial company information that affects business decisions within and around the company.
Tasks and Duties of the Position
• Preparing financial documentation. Includes, but is not limited to, invoices, bills, accounts payable and receivable.
• Managing company ledgers and assisting with budget computations
• Assist in organising company payroll, compliance, and benefits. Supports HR in collecting information and computing employee hours
• Assisting the Finance department and senior accounting personnel with clerical tasks. Includes budget preparation, record-keeping, and noting down statements
• Encoding and clerical duties, including data processing for accounting records
• Reviewing reports, auditing, and verifying financial numbers and computations
• Documenting, reporting, and posting company receipts, cheques, and other daily company transactions and expenses, also includes verifying these transactions and recording accompanying balances
• Helping senior staff in preparing budgets and reports, including the year-end analysis
• Detecting, reviewing, and resolving any errors in financial reports
Eligibility and Requirements
• Qualified up to intermediate level in the UK's ACCA or CIMA
• At least two to three years of proven Payroll and Accounting department experience
• Strong data entry skills, especially with the use of accounting software
• Keen eye for detail. Experience in auditing financial statements and reports is preferred
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office software and capable of generating daily transaction reports
• Strong interpersonal skills and able to work seamlessly with teams
• Effective written and electronic communication skills
• Able to work under pressure with tight deadlines
